Sharp Announces Launch Of 922SH Phone For Bloggers In Japan
Technology Friday, March 28th, 2008Japanese phone company Sharp has released a new phone, the 922SH targeted at bloggers who can now update their blog with the phone. The phone is available for purchase through Softbank Mobile, Japan’s number three cellular provider. The phone can only be used on the Softbank network in Japan and there are no plans at present to launch it overseas.
The 922SH has a 3.5-inch display that folds out to the side so the phone can be used more like a miniature laptop. The phone comes with an RSS reader and a PC-style Web browser along with a mobile browser. The phone packs a three-row QWERTY keyboard with hot keys for functions such as digital mobile TV and the camera and a shortcut key to Yahoo Mobile. The phone features also include Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel main camera, an additional 110,000-pixel camera for video conferencing and support for Micro SD memory cards.
The 922SH has an impressive battery life providing 250 minutes of talk time on WCDMA and 270 minutes on GSM with standby time of 340 hours and 310 hours respectively. The mobile TV viewing time is 4.5 hours.
