Google has announced the online availability of Google Message Discovery, an on-demand email archiving solution which is powered by Postini.

This solution is basically helpful for businesses who need to store their emails for future access, legal compliance and lost email recovery.  As with almost all Google services, the Google Message Discovery is available in the cloud so you don’t have to maintain any hardware or software to store your emails.  It includes the all-powerful Google search which lets you find the exact message from your archived email records and also includes spam filtering.

The Google Message Discovery solution is available as part of Google Apps Premier Edition and for standalone purchase for $25 per user per year which I think is slightly on the higher side.
