Google Docs Are Going Offline

Google is taking the Google Docs offline.  Yes really, now you can access Google Docs without the Internet connection.

Powered by Google Gears, now Google Docs supports viewing and editing your word processing documents in the web browser when you are not connected to the web.  The changes made to documents are stored locally and are synced with the server when you connect to the web.

Currently, offline access is only available for word processing documents and that too for documents written in English only.  Support for spreadsheets, presentations and other languages will be added in the future.  Watch the video at Google Channel on YouTube to see how it works.

Remember, you need to install Google Gears to your system before using this functionality.
