Expedia Gets A Homosexual Partner

Expedia has partnered with PlanetOut Inc as the exclusive travel content and online booking provider. PlanetOut Inc. is a media and entertainment network focused on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.

Through the partnership, Expedia will integrate full range of travel content, online planet_out_logo bookings as well as merchandising across the PlanetOut network which includes sites like Gay.com, PlanetOut.com, Advocate.com, Out.com, OutTraveler.com and HIVPlusMag.com.

On the Expedia and PlanetOut partnership, Kevyn Lloyd Aiken, VP of marketing and media sales for PlanetOut, said,

We know from our proprietary research that Expedia.com is already a preferred travel booking mechanism for the LGBT community and look forward to partnering with Expedia to further their market share in a community that spends more than twice what the average American does on travel.

Apart from the content and booking facility, Expedia will also sponsor PlanetOut events. In turn, Expedia will get advertising and branding opportunity across the PlanetOut network.
