Google Street View Gets Sued; How Boring?

A couple named Aaron and Christine Boring has sued Google over showing the 360 degree panoramic view of their residence in the Google Street View service.

As per the Boring couple, the inclusion of their home pics in the Google Street View has caused them mental suffering and has diminished the value of their property. The couple, which spent big money for buying their Pittsburgh residence, claims that the main reason for them to buy this property was privacy. With the inclusion of the pics of the house, including the swimming pool, has compromised their privacy.

The couple is seeking damages worth $25,000 from Google along with removal of the pics from Street View. Ok, I understand privacy concerns by the couple but how can it lead to diminished value of residence. Can anyone explain.

If the Borings get to win this case, Google will land itself in big trouble as it will either require Google to take the Street View service down or face millions of other lawsuits from the people for compromising their privacy.
