Yahoo India has tied up with Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani for running integrated learning programs to meet the growing human resource needs for Yahoo.
According to the terms of tie-up, BITS will operate an off-campus center in Bangalore for providing Work Integrated Learning Programs to Yahoo employees. The programs offered under this arrangement will be treated equivalent to the ones offered on BITS campus and the participants will be treated as students of BITS.![]()
Yahoo, in turn, will provide all the physical and communication infrastructure for running these programs and will also provide corporate support through appointed company resources to ensure smooth functioning.
This is a welcome move from Indian corporate sector and I wish more of these tie-ups between educational institutions and corporate houses could happen. These kind of tie-ups provide a valuable knowledge resource and lots of learning and development opportunities for students as well as professionals.
