Nokia Showcases Nokia Tube; An iPhone Challenger

Nokia has showcased its answer to Apple’s iPhone in a presentation at the Evans Data Developer Relations Conference.  The project has been code named “Tube” and the the concerned device is a touch phone with very iPhone like looks.

Tom Libretto, vice president of Forum Nokia said,

It’s our first Touch device.  Interfacing with the system is done via touch similar to the iPhone. The company has not published the planned date of shipment for Nokia Tube.

The Tube will support Java which is not supported by iPhone yet and plans to compete for the iPhone’s share of market once launched.
