Oracle Selected As Retail Applications Provider By India’s Aditya Birla Retail Limited

Oracle Retail Applications have been selected by India’s Aditya Birla Retail Limited to power the retail brand’s plans of transforming the Indian retail sector.

Oracle will provide retail merchandising, planning and supply chain applications to Aditya Birla group for supporting the company’s growth plan in the retail sector.  It will also provide Oracle Financials, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Database to Aditya Birla Retail.

As per Aditya Birla Group, Oracle was chosen over other competitors including SAP because of its flexibility in supporting the group’s multi-format stores chain named “more”.

Oracle, which is already strong in Indian Enterprise IT segment, has recently been making some aggressive moves in its India strategy.  Recently, i-Flex Solutions, an Indian IT company in which Oracle had a major shareholding, was renamed as Oracle Financial Services.
