Alliance of Virtual Assistants: A Virtual Network For Virtual Assistants

The Alliance of Virtual Assistants is virtual network for all those who work as virtual  AVA logoassistants for the purpose of connecting with each other and even with potential clients.  It is mini-social network built and hosted on Ning and has been created by Darell Williams who himself works as a virtual assistant.

As per them, the difference between AVA and other such networks is the ability to socialize using all the common social networking features provided by Ning like blogs, forums, groups, pictures and videos.  In my view, there is nothing new as such and there are various existing communities on social networks like Orkut and Facebook which provide the same features.  Moreover, if you want to get rid of the isolation from real world which is a part of a virtual assistant’s job, get something real; something which is off computer and Internet.  Perhaps an offline network which lets you meet and socialize with people in person.

The AVA can be useful for people who are looking for a virtual assistant.  They can send a mail to the group administrator who will then post the request on the network for people to apply.
