In order to extend its reach to mobile and wireless devices, Skype has released a beta version of Skype application for Java based mobile phones.  The application works with 50 Java-enabled mobile phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.  The application is available worldwide, however, the facility to make Skype-to-Skype and SkypeOut calls from the mobile phones is available in Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom only.

The standard features included in the beta version of Skype’s mobile client include chat, group chat, presence, and receiving Skype-to-Skype and SkypeIn calls.
