Microsoft has released the Messenger for Mac version 7 with new features for both home as well corporate users.

The Messenger: Mac 7 version provides the ability for the personal users to find their contacts by name or e-mail address and assign nicknames to their friends.  Another big feature for personal users is the support for Mac OS X’s Bonjour which facilitates connecting and communicating with contacts on local network.  Personal users can also attach and share Word documents, Excel charts and PowerPoint slide shows in the instant messages using the Messenger for Mac 7.

For the users of Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 and Microsoft Communicator, the latest version of Messenger for Mac provides support for video and audio chats, including multi-party conferencing.  The new features also include the ability to find contacts from the organization’s Global Address Book and display a personal status message on the Messenger along with the Presence indicator.
