mtvU, an MTV college network, the Kaiser Family Foundation and POZ Magazine, have together launched “Pos or Not“. Pos Or Not is built on the lines of Hot or Not and aims to make people talk openly about HIV and AIDS and create awareness about testing and protection.
The game begins with throwing up a challenge to guess whether the person is HIV positive or not on the basis of the picture of the person along with basic details like hobbies, interests etc. Once you make your guess, you get to see the results and more information about the person shown in the picture.
The game features two types of people; those who are HIV positive themselves and the ones which are helping people in fighting against HIV by educating people, creating awareness about HIV and supporting people in coping up with the associated problems.
I think the game passes on a very important message that the people infected by HIV just look, live and behave in the same manner and should be treated equally. It’s a great effort to create awareness about a disease which people do not like to talk about and those who suffer from it are treated differently by the society.
