Microsoft’s PopFly, an easy mashup maker, has added a new feature named
PopFly
Game Creator. The new feature lets you create your own games without writing any code. The PopFly Game Creator is based on Microsoft’s Rich Internet Application and Multimedia platform, Silverlight.
The Game Creator provides the ability to build a new game or customize one using an existing template in 3 simple steps. Let’s say, you choose to build your own game from scratch without choosing a template. The following is all that you need to do for creating your own game:
Choose Characters: You start with selecting characters for your game from the library which has characters from various categories like People, Animals, Vehicles, Buildings etc. You can even import your own character to use it in the game.
Create Scenes: After you have chosen the characters, the next step is to create scenes for the game by selecting backgrounds and picking up sound tracks.
Add Behaviors: This is the last and final step in which you decide how the characters will behave in particular scenes and how they will interact with each other. You also define the game controls, events and actions by the characters triggered by those events at this stage.
Once you have created the game, you can embed it on any web page, add it to Windows Vista Sidebar or Live Spaces and share it on Facebook, Digg and Reddit.
Below is the sample game which you can play within this window itself or you can go to this game’s page.
PS: You need to have Silverlight installed on your computer to play this game and it is played using keyboard.
