Nokia has launched the beta version of its health technology product named Step Counter.  As the name suggests, Nokia Step Counter counts the number of steps that you take during the day on the basis of movements of your mobile phone.

The major difference between the other alternatives available and Nokia Step Counter is the way you carry device.  While other products require the tracking system to be attached to the belt, Nokia Step Counter works accurately independent of the way and position in which you carry the mobile phone.  Whether you carry your phone in your hand or keep it in your pocket, the Step Counter keeps tracking your movement.

The reports that it generates are pretty detailed and show the number of steps taken, calories used, distance covered and total step time for the day.
