Mumble Lets You Talk To Friends Through Voice Chat While Playing Multiplayer Games Like World Of Warcraft

If you wanted to talk to your friends while playing multiplayer games together, Mumble is an application which can help you do that.  Mumble is a voice chat application using which you can talk to your friends while playing games like World of Warcraft (WoW) and Battlefield.

Mumble, built using Qt cross-platform Rich client development framework and Speex audio codec, is an open source application providing low latency group voice chat feature and works on Windows, Mac OS X as well as Linux systems.  The application uses echo cancellation and denoising technology so that the voice from the speakers is not audible to other players.

The voice chat works for almost all games but has special support for World of Warcraft and Battlefield.  These two games have positional sound support which makes the sound come from the direction of players in the game.
