Sales training is a form of educational empowerment that provides your organization’s sales team with the necessary sales skills that they need to be able to succeed in their day to day sales activities. An effective sales training program goes much further than just providing sales skills. There are many benefits your sales team can get from a sales training program, these include:

Increased sales

Implementing a sales training program for your sales people helps them gain more understanding on the sales process. It equips them with the necessary skills on starting a dialogue, understanding kind of customers and giving knowledge on the reasons why one should purchase and finally closing a deal. With this, your organization will realize greater profits as a result of an increase in sales.

Better customer service

Effective sales skills equip your sales people with important knowledge that they need when handling customers. These training programs enable the sales team to know the signals customers send out and be able to pay attention to them and give better customer service, thus making clients happier.

Success encourages even more success. Training is a healthy way of making the sales team get to the right track. Once the direction is set and success achieved, the sales people are encouraged to go forth in achieving more. It acts as a motivator for your team because when the team starts to close deals, they get motivated to close much more.

Powerful confidence

A sales person must always be confident. This attribute should be exhibited on the product they sell and the company. Training helps your sales team build confidence as they get familiar with the products that they are selling. Training provides them with knowledge on the purpose of the product and its functionality. With this knowledge, there is no room for guesswork, thus giving your team confidence as the meet prospective buyers.

Training creates focus

Your sales team can easily get distracted by the many tasks they need to accomplish. There are meetings to attend, reports to write and submit and a list of clients to visit. Training helps your team prioritize their tasks and gets them focused on making sales to increase the profits.

Training encourages further advanced training

Once your sales people have learnt successful sales tips, the desire to have more training is inevitable. Training becomes a habit as it instills new knowledge on your team on what works and what makes them close sales faster and effectively.

Many businesses are opting to use information technology outsourcing services due to the many advantages they offer. The current global recession has also compelled companies to outsource different information technology services in order to stay afloat. Countries from different parts of the world have also proved to be major outsourcing destinations in regards to different services. When choosing to go for an outsourced IT service, you need to be very careful as this impacts the business’ productivity, efficiency, and also its reputation. Due to these reasons, it is important to consider the following things when selecting an information technology company to offer services on your behalf:

1. Price

It is always important to determine the cost of service before you decide on the firm to select. To get good rates, always carry out a research to know what different firms offer. Some offer flat rates, while others offer fixed rates. This information will help you evaluate which firm to hire. Always ensure that quality is not compromised. Choose a company that offers high quality services at a reasonable cost.

2. Define your needs

Before selecting a service provider, it is important for your business to assess its needs and define the actual reasons why there is need to get a provider to handle some of your services. When these needs are analyzed, you are able to define the exact areas where you need to outsource in order to maximize on productivity.

3. The provider’s capabilities

Before you choose a firm, you should check what the outsourcing firm is able to offer. A good outsourced IT firm should be able to offer the latest information technology products and software to enable a company to have a competitive edge. Therefore, choose a company that has strong foundation and provides high quality and latest products to a company.

4. Referrals

Before you choose an IT firm, always inquire and get information from family, friends, colleagues or other organizations that have used these services before. Some firms are always ready and willing to give a list of companies that have used their services before. From this list, you are able to evaluate quality and credibility of services offered. This information is able to offer a guide in choosing a good IT firm to outsource its services from.

5. Location

IT service providers can either offer their support services remotely or onsite. Before you settle on a firm, ensure that they are located near your premises. This will help when you are experiencing problems as they are able to come to your aid on time.

The growing unrest and tension in several countries is a reminder that disruptions and violence may occur anytime and anywhere. It also emphasizes the importance of putting into place an organized and predetermined plan to stay safe when traveling abroad on business.

Business professionals face a wide range of potential risks when traveling to a foreign country. Some of the issues that warrant a high level of attention include:

Access into and out of countries;

Personal health and safety;

Proper life, accident and health insurance coverage;

Culturally appropriate attire;

Road safety and security; and

Local customs and laws.

These travel risks may be grouped into three categories: health, security and safety. This paper discusses each category and then takes a look at some travel considerations that can help overseas business travelers respond to potentially dangerous situations that may arise both within countries and between countries.

Microsoft has launched an online marketplace for people to post and find freelance jobs, named Task Market. The differentiating factor for Task Market from other online freelance marketplaces is that the jobs should be the ones which could be completed using Microsoft Office products.

So, you will not find any technology related jobs at Task Market which is a majority of all freelance jobs posted on online marketplaces like Elance and Guru. The site does not have many projects as of now and the interface, though simple, lacks various features like private communication between the buyer and provider.

Microsoft Task Market looks like a good way for promoting Office products amongst freelancers. Google had also launched a similar service named Google Solutions Marketplace which is focused on connecting small and medium businesses and freelance developers for implementing Google products.

eBay has integrated PayPal Pay Later option for U.S. buyers to purchase qualifying products priced between $50 and $199. The Pay Later option will be available for the customers while checking out and if the customer is not a registered PayPal user, he/she can sign up to avail the credit service immediately during the checkout process itself.

The Pay Later feature from PayPal provides easy credit facility for customers through GE Money with no payment for 90 days for purchases. If the customer makes the full payment within 90 days, no interest is charged to the customer.

All eBay sellers, who already accept PayPal payments, will be automatically enrolled for offering PayPal Pay Later option to their customers. With the availability of deferred payment option for buyers, eBay is anticipating more sales for its sellers and ultimately more revenue for itself.

eBay is always on the lookout for ways to integrate PayPal deeply into its system. A recent decision by eBay Australia to make PayPal as the only payment option available on the site got a backlash from both buyer and seller communities and was later reversed.

Customers always want alternatives and with PayPal Pay Later as an alternative for making payments for purchases, eBay seems to be headed in the right direction.

Learn more about PayPal Pay Later option.

The company will continue to operate as an independent unit post the acquisition and will report into Comcast Interactive Media. ComCast which was using Plaxo’s addressbook service for its webmail users will integrate Plaxo’s services including the social network, Pulse, into its properties like Fancast and Fandango.

Plaxo’s universal addressbook is very useful service and has a huge user base but Pulse has failed to get traction and didn’t take off really. We might get to see some other uses of Pulse and its effectiveness once it gets integrated in the ComCast’s suite of services.

Sphere which started off as a blog search engine competing with the likes of Technorati and Google Blog Search later transformed itself into a related content discovery engine by expanding its focus to other media types like videos and photos.

AOL which was already using the Sphere widget on its web properties like AOL News and myAOL will now distribute its content across the Sphere’s publisher network. The deal also provides AOL an access to the advertising inventory across Sphere’s network.

The acquisition of Sphere marks another move by AOL in becoming a content and social network powered company supported through revenues generated from advertising.

AOL has announced a deal with Verizon under which Platform-A will manage Verizon’s online ad inventory. Under the deal, Verizon will get to use Platform-A’s sales force, along with its ad-serving, targeting, and inventory management capabilities. This deal is a major success for Platform-A which is a the centerpiece of AOL’s restructuring.

Apart from online advertising management, Verizon will continue to use Third Screen Media, Platform-A’s mobile ad serving platofrm, to manage the sale of its mobile web advertising. Third Screen Media currently works with Verizon for providing advanced mobile advertising options including geographic, demographic, and content targeting, display, and sponsorship opportunities on Verizon mobile portal, sections and article Web pages.

The deal will give Platform-A the right to represent all of Verizon’s advertising space on the Internet, including premium space, and majority of mobile advertising space. Platofrm-A will exclusively represent Verizon’s ad inventory in the marketplace and will be the only organization to guarantee placement on the Verizon network.

Interestingly, Verizon had filed a lawsuit against Time Warner Cable last week for false advertising related to its broadband services. Both AOL and Time Warner Cable are divisions of Time Warner Inc.
